Bangkok #1

Last Tuesday (30th October), my family and I went to Bangkok. It was our first time going there. My mom, Ara, Elan and I was going from Singapore, but my dad will be going from Jakarta.
To kill the hungriness (hehe) Ara and I chose to sleep, but then, we smell something delicious. It was Elan's meal, which my mom bought for him. There is a dilemma for me and Ara, we are really want to order the meal, but the plane is about to land in a few minutes (and the order take so long time), but if we share the meal, it was a really small amount, and it won't make any difference to our hungriness. Okay, a little bit difference. Finally, we chose to share the meal.
And the plane was landing! We arrived at Suvarnabhumi airport! YUHUUU, Bangkok here we come! We went to immigration first before taking our luggage. And then going straight away to the BTS (Bangkok Transit System. If I'm not wrong).
The transportation system is just similar with Singapore, so we already feel comfortable with it. Except for the language, because it's really rare to find someone who knows English. Welcome to the Jungle! Then we took a BTS to Phaya Thai (if I'm not wrong), we spent 45 Baht on every person for that trip. During our trip, the scenery was a large field with a lot of banana trees and others, a not so good houses (look like a Rusun in Indonesia) and a traffic jam (but not as bad as Jakarta, may be not yet :p).
After that, we still confuse, which transportation we're gonna take, Taxi or BTS. But after we compare the price, it's much cheaper to use taxi. There are 2 types of taxi here, a taxi-meter (usual taxi) and a tuk-tuk (look like a bemo in Indonesia). We prefer to use a taxi meter, because tuk-tuk of cheated on the price for tourist.
Finally, after 15 minutes, we can get our taxi. Oh yeah, don't forget to print the Thailand language for every address you wanna go, otherwise the driver will not know (or pretend to know, but they don't know) where you wanna go.
More less 30 minutes later, we arrive at our apartment, Seed Siam Memories, it's only (maybe) 20 meters from Jim Thompson's house, and it's located at the opposite of MBK (the famous shopping mall in Bangkok). I was a bit worry about our apartment before we arrived here, because I saw a lot of 'not so good' apartment in the way to our apartment. But then, I know that I am completely wrong, my apartment is a condominium with a gym and swimming pool as one of the facilities there. The room is awesome (even though it's small), that's comfy, got a lot of English channel on their TV, just like a hotel, but with the kitchen. What could be better than that, for us, Moslem, it's hard to find a halal food, so the best (and cheapest) way to stay in Bangkok is cook by yourself.
We spent the rest of our day for watching TV, cooking and eating (plus go shopping to find the ingredients for my mom). Around 11 my dad was coming, he told us his story of how he hard to tell the bus driver where he wants to stop. LOL. luckily there is a woman that can speak English, so she becomes his translator. Haha, lucky for you dad.
It's our first day, don't miss the next article for the second day :D see ya
