The Story of Garbage Enzymes-GUI

After my last post about Composting, I want to share about how to make fruit waste become utensil cleaner, fertilizer, etc. Happy reading :))

The story of Garbage Enzymes…
Garbage enzyme is a multi-purpose solution made from the process of breaking down organic wastes. This is a good way of turning kitchen waste into useful materials instead of letting them end up in waste dump!

How to make garbage enzymes
Step 1: prepare materials (ratio 1:3:10)
For example if you’re using a 5 litres plastic or glass container, you would need:
300g of brown sugar (ratio 1)
900g uncooked kitchen wastes eg. Fruit peels, vegetable scraps (NO MEAT!) (ratio3)
3000ml water (ratio 10)
Step 2: Mix brown sugar, fruit/vegetable scraps and the water in the plastic/ glass container. Shake well!
Step 3:  Leave containers in a shaded, cool, dry place. Open the cap to release gas once a day for the 1st month. Recap the container to prevent files from getting in! For the 2nd and 3rd months, release gas builds up whenever necessary

Your Garbage Enzymes will be ready for use after 3 months!
(Leftover scraps after finishing the solution can be composted and used in planting your herbs and vegetables for food… completing our Food Cycle)

How to use Garbage Enzyme? (Garbage enzyme : water dilution ratio)
1.       As a general cleaning solution (1:500 to 1:1000)
2.       As an insecticide/pesticide (1:100 to 1:1000)
3.       For anti-odor/air freshener (1:200)
4.       As plant fertilizer (1:100 to 1:1000)
5.       To encourage plant flowering/fruiting (1:500)

WOW! Compost! - GUI

Tulisan yang lebih jelasnya :
Composting returns nutrients held in vegetable cuttings and other organic waste to the soil. A compost pile needs a mix of greens and browns or moist and dry organic matter. This is laid in repeated layers.

The aim of composting is to create the best conditions for micro-organisms to break down organic matter. The work of micro-organisms causes the compost pile to heat up. A good compost pile will heat up to between 40oC-70oC

At GUI, these materials are used for creating the layers in compost:
1.       Vegetable scraps (“green” or “moist” layer)
2.       Used coffee grounds (a “moist” layer that has already begun fermenting will speeds up the action)
3.       Dry leaves and sticks (“dry” layer)

For best results, break you organic matter into small pieces to help speed up decomposition. While moisture is essential, compost should not be too wet. Ensure there are holes at the bottom of your pile for air to come in and for water to drain away.

Selamat mencoba ! ;)

rameeeen :D

Jurong Bird Park

Today, I went to Jurong Bird Park with tante Novi, tante Desita (tante Novi's friend from Malaysia) and om Irul, oh and of course, Hahaf :D
Because I got afternoon class for today, and tante Novi has a free ticket, and (again) I never go to JBP before, so I went there with them :))
It's pretty beautiful as a man-made nature. And also has a various kind of birds. The design of JBP is nice, even it's small, it can fit a lot of things.
I'm 110% sure Indonesia can make something more than this, if they really think about it, NO CORRUPTION, and maintain it properly, it will be very awesome!

There are a lot of things to do in this school, minimum you can take an interactive and unique picture (as I show you below XD) because this school has a very unique building. You must check it by yourself.
